Brilliantly Buoyant

Brilliantly Buoyant

I was listening to J.S. Bach's Partita No. 2 in C minor (BWV 826) earlier today and the Rondeaux movement in particular stood out to me. It's a fascinating and beautiful one (the video is timestamped to start there). I had to stop what I was doing and fully attend to it when I heard those spritely notes playing. Trevor Pinnock, per usual, plays it exceptionally well.

It reminds me of the height of spring, of dancing in a joyous, buoyant way in the sunshine of a forest clearing, the air redolent with the scent of flowers. I felt physically and mentally lighter after listening to it, which is always a welcome and freeing sensation. One more instance of the great master's brilliancy. I felt compelled to share it with you, so enjoy it!
