About

Hello, welcome to my little website. Liber Vivi is (potentially bastardized) Latin for "living book," which is what I want this site to be; a growing and evolving chronicle of my best ideas, of whatever I think might help others find their own way with a bit less frustration and confusion. I've spent a great deal of time and energy in pursuit of a well-rounded state of flourishing. In some ways I've succeeded beyond what I would have thought possible at the outset, in others there remains much to be done. This website is one way to share the fruits of my journey with you.

I feel I've been a sundial in the shade for most of my life, and the time has come to step into the light. I will share with you my honest thoughts and opinions, and what has worked well for me. We live in a strange and tumultuous time, and it is difficult to find good information amidst the churning sea of lies and distortions that is our public discourse. Wisdom rarely appears as such to the unwise, and the level-headed are met with rank hostility from all factions in polarized times. Social pressures are often the greatest foe we face when trying to improve our lives. The imbecilic cycle of pitching from one ideological extreme to another, so common today, is the very antithesis of living well, of living wisely.

Whether you can believe it or not, I want to you to be healthy, beautiful, strong, passionate, wise and a part of something greater than yourself. I want your days to be rich with meaningful activity and your nights to be blessed with rejuvenating repose. I want you to be surrounded by others whom you love and respect, who will aid you in times of need and keep you honest when you go astray, who will support you in your highest aspirations and revel in your victories as if they were their own. This is what I want for you, this is what I want for myself.

Though it is easy to forget it, we are in this struggle for a better life together; facing many of the same troubles, adrift in the midst of an immensity and complexity of being we can at best dimly comprehend. None of us truly know what is occurring or why, none of us have any fundamental or complete conception of what this reality is, though we all have our favored notions. We would learn more working together with a shared purpose. It is through collaboration and competition with kindred spirits that we grow most rapidly and find the greatest fulfillment.

So read on, there's no telling where you might end up!
